YEREVAN, May 20. /ARKA/. Moscow cannot accept Yerevan's approach, which maintains Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until a possible switch to EU membership, stated Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin.

"Such approaches cannot satisfy us; such approaches are absolutely unacceptable for us," he told reporters after a meeting of the Russian Security Council's special working group, TASS reports.

Galuzin recalled that Armenia signed the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as documents on the development of the EAEU until 2030 and 2045.

According to him, these documents oblige member states to comply with the provisions of the treaty and prevent actions that could jeopardize Eurasian economic integration.

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister also stated that Armenia will not be able to simultaneously be a member of two integration associations.

"As the saying goes, Armenia cannot dance at two weddings," he noted.

Responding to a question about whether Moscow would set a timeframe for Yerevan's position between the EAEU and the EU, Galuzin stated that Russia favors clarity "regarding Armenia's direction, but I don't have any specifics on the timeframe yet."
