YEREVAN, June 8. /ARKA/. Parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 7, 2026, and the Civil Contract Party won and will form the sole government, announced RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Compared to 2021, the Civil Contract Party received more votes and confidence votes. This is a responsibility and means that citizens are responsible for the state, freedom, future, and peace," he said at a press conference after the elections.

Responding to a question about how he determined the victory, given that the Central Election Commission had not yet completed the vote count, Pashinyan said the party had trusted representatives at all polling stations.

"We have already summarized the results," he said.

Elections

On June 7, regular elections for the 9th National Assembly were held at 2,005 polling stations in Armenia.

According to the Central Election Commission, 2,503,974 people are registered as voters in Armenia. Voter turnout as of 8:00 PM was 58.97%. Based on the processing of ballots from approximately 20% of polling stations, the following political forces have entered parliament: the Civil Contract Party - 54.8%, the Strong Armenia bloc - 22.02%, the Armenia bloc - 8.56%, and the Prosperous Armenia Party - 5.38%.

There is no minimum turnout threshold for parliamentary elections. This means that the elections are considered valid regardless of how many citizens participate in the vote. Parties and blocs that have overcome the legal threshold are eligible to participate in the distribution of seats in the elections to the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia: 4% for parties, 8% for blocs consisting of two parties, and 10% for blocs consisting of three or more parties.

Eighteen political forces - 2 blocs and 16 parties - are participating in the elections: Reformist Party; I Am Against All Democratic Party; Strong Armenia Bloc; Meritocratic Party of Armenia; New Force Reformist Party; Wings of Unity Party; Prosperous Armenia Party; Pan-Armenian National Democratic Pole Party; Kochari - National Revival and Awakening of the Nation Party; Armenian National Congress Party; Republic Party; Christian Democratic Party; Democratic Union Party; Democracy, Law, Order (DLO) Party; Civil Contract Party; Armenia Bloc of Parties; In the Name of the Republic - Defenders of Democracy Party; Bright Armenia Party.
