YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed that he will participate in the upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Responding to a question about Armenia's interaction with the EAEU, Pashinyan emphasized that the union's structures continue to operate as usual.

"The EAEU institutions are functioning. This is a routine process in which we will participate," the Prime Minister noted at a briefing.

The next meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be held on August 6-7, 2026, in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan.

Armenia – EAEU – EU

The Armenian authorities continue to declare their commitment to rapprochement with the EU and the transition to European standards, but intend to maintain membership in the EAEU as long as it is possible to combine both.

Moscow, for its part, warns that Armenia's transition to EU standards will have direct economic consequences. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that in such a case, Russia would have to curtail its economic integration with Armenia, and that Armenia could lose up to 14% of its GDP if energy prices rise due to its withdrawal from the EAEU.

In turn, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan stated that gas supplies are currently secured, contacts with partners are ongoing, and the potential risks for the Armenian economy are manageable.
