Armenian PM offers assistance to victims of earthquake in Turkey and Syria
YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan offered assistance to people in Turkey and Syria who suffered from a powerful earthquake that hit today morning parts of both countries, killing hundreds of people.
'Saddened by the news of the devastating earthquake in Turkiye & Syria that resulted in the loss of so many lives. Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and we wish a speedy recovery to the injured. Armenia is ready to provide assistance,' Pashinyan said in a tweet.
The 7.8 magnitude tremor struck at 04:17 local time (01:17 GMT) at a depth of 17.9km near the Turkish city of Gaziantep.
According to the latest reports, the quake killed more than 500 people as they slept and trapped many others. -0-
