Manufacturing production in January-May 2026 amounted to AMD 784,112.3 million, an increase of 8.6% compared to January-May 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. Manufacturing production in January-May 2026 amounted to AMD 784,112.3 million, an increase of 8.6% compared to January-May 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
In May, manufacturing output amounted to AMD 165,659.0 million, a 7.4% increase compared to May 2025 and a 3.6% increase compared to April 2026.
Food production accounted for the largest share of the industry's total output for January-May, accounting for 30.1%. This segment showed a 6.4% increase compared to January-May of the previous year, producing goods worth 236,017.5 million drams.
The top five sectors by share also included the production of basic metals, with a 16.6% share, an increase of 34.7%, and a volume of 130,056.0 million drams; tobacco production, with a 15.1% share, a decrease of 5.3%, and a volume of 118,052.6 million drams; beverage production, with an 11.0% share, an increase of 14.3%, and a volume of 86,335.9 million drams; and the production of other non-metallic mineral products, with a 6.8% share, a decrease of 3.1%, and a volume of 52,957.1 million drams. Next in line are:
chemical production — 2.5%, an increase of 86.2%, a volume of 19,990.4 million drams;
rubber and plastic product production — 2.5%, an increase of 5.9%, a volume of 19,752.2 million drams;
printing and replication of recorded media — 2.3%, a decrease of 1.7%, a volume of 17,835.6 million drams;
clothing production — 1.9%, an increase of 0.2%, a volume of 15,275.3 million drams;
production of products not included in other groups — 1.9%, an increase of 34.4%, a volume of 14,966.4 million drams;
Manufacture of finished metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, grew by 1.8%, up 32.2%, to a volume of AMD 13,860.0 million;
Manufacture of paper and paper products, up 1.7%, up 7.6%, to a volume of AMD 13,255.9 million;
Manufacture of electrical equipment, down 1.4%, down 11.2%, to a volume of AMD 10,892.1 million;
Furniture production, up 1.2%, up 59.1%, to a volume of AMD 9,801.5 million;
Manufacture of basic pharmaceuticals and preparations, up 0.8%, up 20.9%, to a volume of AMD 6,384.1 million;
Manufacture of computers, electronic, and optical products, up 0.7%, up 49.8%, to a volume of AMD 5,418.0 million;
Machinery and equipment repair and installation — 0.7%, down 5.2%, to AMD 5,201.3 million;
Machinery and equipment manufacturing not included in other groups — 0.3%, down 73.4%, to AMD 2,589.2 million;
Textile manufacturing — 0.3%, up 6.8%, to AMD 2,224.9 million;
Leather product manufacturing — 0.2%, up 1.9%, to AMD 1,333.5 million;
Wood processing — 0.1%, up 7.0%, to AMD 1,144.0 million;
Coke and refined petroleum product manufacturing — 0.1%, down 57.2%, to AMD 650.5 million;
