Inflation in Armenia in June 2026, compared to June 2025, was 5.1%, while deflation was 0.5% compared to May of this year.
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Inflation in Armenia in June 2026, compared to June 2025, was 5.1%, while deflation was 0.5% compared to May of this year. This is according to data from the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
In June 2026, compared to June 2025, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 8.6%, while compared to May, they decreased by 1.5%. Alcohol and tobacco prices increased by 7.5% year-on-year, and by 0.3% month-on-month.
Prices for clothing and footwear in June increased by 3% compared to June of the previous year and decreased by 0.2% compared to May. The cost of housing and utilities, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels increased by 1.2% year-on-year, while decreasing by 0.2% month-on-month.
Prices for household goods, appliances, and home maintenance services increased by 1.8% year-on-year and 0.6% month-on-month.
In healthcare, price growth was 3.5% year-on-year, with no monthly trend. In transportation, prices increased by 1.6% compared to June last year and by 1.5% compared to May. In communications, growth was 1.1% year-on-year, with no monthly trend. In recreation and culture, prices increased by 0.9% year-on-year, while decreasing by 1.2% month-on-month.
In education, prices increased by 8.3% compared to June 2025, with no monthly trend. In the restaurant and hotel sectors, growth was 4.1% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month. Prices for various goods and services increased by 2.4% year-on-year and decreased by 0.3% compared to May.
Meanwhile, in the non-food market, prices increased by 2.3% in June 2026 compared to June 2025 and decreased by 0.2% compared to May. Tariffs for services increased by 2.4% year-on-year and by 0.4% month-on-month.
Armenia's 2026 state budget projects economic growth at 5.4%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the first quarter of this year, by the end of 2026, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 7.1-4.7%, depending on scenario (A-B), 5.7-5.3% in 2027, and 4.9-5.2% in 2028.
