An export support agency will be established in Armenia, announced RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
YEREVAN, July 3. /ARKA/. An export support agency will be established in Armenia, announced RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"The process of establishing the agency is underway, and it will be formed soon," Pashinyan noted at a briefing yesterday.
Responding to a question about the impact of state support for businesses amid Russia's restrictions on Armenian exports, Pashinyan said that businesses have long felt this impact.
"The government has made decisions, implemented budget allocations, and implemented support programs for loans. Two more support programs were adopted at the government meeting," Pashinyan stated.
The Prime Minister noted that the Armenian government did not wait for support from the European Union; it has taken action, this support is already being implemented, and numerous programs have been implemented. The day before, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union would allocate an additional €18 million to Armenia to strengthen and diversify trade. This €18 million is the final portion of the previously announced €52 million budget support package. These funds may be used, in particular, to establish an Export Promotion Agency.
Restrictions on products from Armenia to Russia
Starting June 12, 2026, Russia has restricted the import of all quarantine products originating and shipped from Armenia, as well as their transit through Russia to EAEU member states. Rosselkhoznadzor's restrictions apply, in particular, to Jermuk mineral water, alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, and herbs.
The agency cited the "systematic detection of quarantine organisms" in plant products and flowers from Armenia as the reason. It is noted that the ban will remain in effect until a specific algorithm for ensuring the safety and traceability of shipped goods is developed. On Exporter Support in Armenia
Amid Russian trade restrictions, Armenia has expanded its support measures for exporters, particularly to EU countries. The government is compensating transportation costs and customs duties on the supply of fruits, vegetables, and flowers to the EU, the UK, and Canada, and is also providing subsidies for a number of export goods.
On July 2, the Armenian government extended the state support program for the export of certain products through July and expanded the list of goods eligible for compensation. Compensation will be provided to exporters of fresh fruits, certain food products, and beverages exported from Armenia during July 2026. The list of subsidized products includes new categories: dried fruits and vegetables, as well as trout and sturgeon.
