YEREVAN, August 31. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects high economic activity to continue in 2026, driven by domestic sources of growth.

"Economic activity in Armenia grew by 7.7% y-o-y in January-July 2026, following 7.9% y-o-y in January-June. Services made the main contribution (+13.2% y-o-y), while high growth rates were also observed in construction (+25.0%) and industry (+9.5%). The services sector grew thanks to IT and industries associated with strong tourism," the EDB noted in its weekly macro review.

The bank left its forecast for Armenia's GDP growth at 6% this year unchanged. Armenian Economic Figures and Forecasts
The 2026 state budget projects 5.4% economic growth for Armenia. According to preliminary data from the Statistical Committee, Armenia's GDP grew by 6.7% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the second quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 4.5-4.1% by the end of 2026, depending on scenario (A-B).

International financial institutions forecast Armenia's economic growth for 2026: World Bank - 5.3%; IMF - 5.25%; ADB - 5.5%; EBRD - 5.5%; EDB - 6%; S&P Global Ratings - 4.9%; Fitch Ratings - 5.2%.
