According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index increased by 7.7% in January-July 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, the Statistical Committee of the Republic reports.
YEREVAN, August 25. /ARKA/. According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index increased by 7.7% in January-July 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, the Statistical Committee of the Republic reports.
Moreover, in July of this year, the indicator increased by 6.5% compared to July of last year, and by 4.6% compared to June of this year.
Industrial production in the first seven months amounted to 1,793,077.8 million drams, an increase of 9.5% compared to January-July 2025. In July, year-on-year growth was 3.1%, and compared to June, it was 5.5%. Construction volume during the reporting period amounted to 369,243.2 million drams, an increase of 25% compared to the same period last year. In July, year-on-year growth was 26.5%, and month-on-month growth was 16.1%.
Domestic trade turnover for January–July amounted to 3,769,904.2 million drams, an increase of 0.8% compared to the same period last year. In July, the figure decreased by 0.1% year-on-year, but increased by 7% compared to June.
The volume of the service sector excluding trade for the first seven months of 2026 reached 2,593,152.6 million drams, an increase of 13.2% compared to the same period in 2025. In July, year-on-year growth was 17%, and month-on-month growth was 2.8%.
Armenian Economic Figures and Forecasts
The 2026 state budget projects 5.4% economic growth for Armenia. According to preliminary data from the Statistical Committee, Armenia's GDP grew by 6.7% in the second quarter of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the second quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 4.5-4.1% by the end of 2026, depending on scenario (A-B).
International financial institutions' economic growth forecasts for Armenia for 2026: World Bank - 5.3%; IMF - 5.25%; ADB - 5.5%; EBRD - 5.5%; EDB - 6%; S&P Global Ratings - 4.9%; Fitch Ratings - 5.2%.
