YEREVAN, June 16. /ARKA/. Reforming the real estate registration system was discussed at a meeting chaired by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the government press service reported.

Chairman of the Cadastre Committee, Suren Tovmasyan, presented the results of the work carried out to improve the real estate registration system, property rights, and restrictions on it.

During the meeting, the current legislative mechanisms for protecting and guaranteeing property rights, the risks associated with the current procedures for transferring ownership upon alienation of registered property, and the procedure for registering previously unregistered real estate were discussed.

Tovmasyan also presented international regulatory experience in this area and proposals aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and strengthening the protection of property rights.

The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of implementing programs to modernize the industry and noted that the most effective approach to institutional reforms is their phased implementation.

Following the discussion, Pashinyan gave the relevant instructions to the responsible agencies.
