Armenia developing investment proposal for biological fertilizer production
YEREVAN, November 14. /ARKA/. The Armenian government is developing an investment proposal for the production of biological fertilizers. This was announced on Wednesday in parliament by the head of the department, Gevorg Papoyan, in response to complaints from farmers in the country's regions about a shortage of fertilizers.
According to him, the Ministry of Economy is already in dialogue with the private sector regarding opportunities in the local market. "This initiative is being implemented with one specific goal—to address the depletion of agricultural land. This is a fundamental issue in the agricultural sector, and the attitude toward it remains highly conservative," Papoyan noted.
He explained that Armenian farmers have been primarily using nitrogen fertilizers for many years, resulting in an excess of nitrogen compounds in the soil. -0-
