Armenia denies reports of apricots allegedly spoiling during transportation to Spain

Armenia has not yet exported apricots to Spain, Deputy Economy Minister Arman Khojoyan stated, commenting on reports that a shipment of the fruit destined for that country allegedly spoiled in transit.

"The entire internet is discussing the fact that apricots exported to Spain spoiled en route. Apricots have not yet been exported from Armenia to Spain," Khojoyan wrote on his Facebook page.
Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia should prepare to diversify its exports of apricots and other agricultural products to reduce dependence on a single market.
Regarding restrictions on Armenian products in Russia and support for exporters in Armenia
Russia previously restricted the import of all quarantine products originating in and shipped from Armenia, as well as their transit through Russia to EAEU member states. Specifically, restrictions applied to Jermuk mineral water, alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, herbs, fish, and fish products.
Against this backdrop, Armenian authorities expanded support measures for exporters, specifically by compensating transportation costs and customs duties on the supply of fruits, vegetables, and flowers to the EU, the UK, and Canada, as well as providing subsidies for a number of export goods. The list of subsidized products also includes certain beverages, dried fruits and vegetables, and fish (trout and sturgeon).
