Production Volume Of Agricultural Products In October Increased By 7.7 % To 117.1 Billion Drams In Armenia

Volume of produced agricultural products in October 2011 in current prices was about 117.1 billion drams in Armenia increased by 7.7% compared to October 2010, Armenian National Statistic Service (NSS) informed ARKA News Agency.
YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. Volume of produced agricultural products in October 2011 in current prices was about 117.1 billion drams in Armenia increased by 7.7% compared to October 2010, Armenian National Statistic Service (NSS) informed ARKA News Agency.
According to NSS, total volume of produced agricultural products and fishery increased by 8% making over 118.3 billion drams compared to October 2010.
According to the press-release, volume of cattle-breeding in October 2011 was about 90.2 billion drams increased by 9.4%, plant-growing – about 90.2 billion drams increased by 9.4% and fishery – 1.2 billion drams (growth by 38.4%).
According to NSS, sale of meat of cattle and small livestock and poultry (live weight) increased by 0.9% making 11.4 thousand tons. In October, the sale of the largest part of meat slaughter was implemented in Gegharkunik region – 2.8 thousand tons and 0.1 thousand tons – in Yerevan.
In October 2011, volume of milk production increased by 0.2% making 55.6 thousand tons compared to the same period of 2010. The highest indicator of milk production was recorded also in Gegharkunik region – 16.2 thousand tons (remained unchanged compared to the same period of 2010).
Egg production in October 2011 increased by 4.7% making 42 million eggs. The largest quantity of eggs was produced in Armavir region – 12.4 million (growth by 24%).
In October 2011, volume of fishery and fish-breeding was 591 tons (the whole volume was sold) increased by 38.4% compared to October 2010. In October 2011 compared to September 2011, volume of fishery and fish-breeding also increased by 14.1%. ($1 – 382.74 drams). –0-
