Speaker of Natinal Assembly to travel to Istanbul for the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union

A delegation from the National Assembly of Armenia, led by Speaker Alen Simonyan, will visit Istanbul from April 16 to 19 to participate in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
YEREVAN, April 14. /ARKA/. A delegation from the National Assembly of Armenia, led by Speaker Alen Simonyan, will visit Istanbul from April 16 to 19 to participate in the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Simonyan announced this to reporters on the sidelines of parliament, adding that he plans to hold a number of meetings during the visit.
"I'll leave for Istanbul in a few days, where I'll meet with Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko. This isn't an official meeting," he explained.
According to the Speaker, he also plans to meet with the speakers of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Georgia in Istanbul.
The 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union will be held in Istanbul from April 15 to 19. Around 130 parliamentary delegations, including approximately 60 speakers, are expected to participate. The agenda includes the election of the organization's ninth Secretary-General.
