Freight Traffic In Armenia Shrinks 7.5% In Jan-Sept 2011

Freight traffic in Armenia shrank 7.5% in Jan-Sept 2011, compared with the same period a year earlier, National Statistical Service of the Commonwealth of Independent States reports.
YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. Freight traffic in Armenia shrank 7.5% in Jan-Sept 2011, compared with the same period a year earlier, National Statistical Service of the Commonwealth of Independent States reports.

Armenia was the only CIS country having its freight traffic fallen at the mentioned period.

According to the statistical report, 11.4% more cargoes were carried in CIS countries by all transportation means but pipelines over Jan-Sept 2011 than over the same period a year before.

Moldova showed the highest, 23.4% year-on-year growth and Kazakhstan 21.9% growth.

Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, with their 8.1%, 7.5%, 6.2%, 5.1% and 4.2% growth follow Moldova and Kazakhstan.
