2,440 organizations in Armenia proposed for inclusion in list of air polluters
YEREVAN, July 27. /ARKA/. The Ministry of Environment of Armenia has submitted for public discussion a draft order approving an updated list of active organizations that have a harmful impact on the atmosphere and are subject to state registration.

The list attached to the draft includes 2,440 organizations, individual entrepreneurs, and other business entities from all regions of Armenia and Yerevan. The draft includes, among others, mining, construction, energy, food, medical, scientific, educational, and public organizations.

As noted in the explanatory note to the document, legal entities and individual entrepreneurs whose activities result in pollutant emissions such that the estimated annual air use exceeds 200 million cubic meters are subject to state registration.

The project was developed in compliance with the RA Law "On Atmospheric Air Protection," which mandates the Ministry of Environment to compile and approve a list of enterprises that have a harmful impact on the atmosphere.

According to the document, the list will be updated based on annual administrative statistical reporting data in accordance with the government decree of January 4, 2024.

Following the adoption of the decree, the authorized body is expected to approve the updated list of enterprises subject to state registration.

The Ministry emphasizes that the project's implementation will not require additional expenditures from the state or local budgets and will not entail changes in budget revenues or expenditures.

It is also noted that the initiative is not related to the implementation of the Armenia Transformation Strategy 2050, the Government Program for 2021–2026, or other strategic documents.

The project has been posted on the unified legal acts portal e-draft.am for public comment. Proposals submitted on the platform will be reviewed within two business days, while those received by email will be reviewed within ten business days.
