Trade between Armenia and UAE exceeded $2 bln in 2023

In 2023 the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was Armenia’s second largest trade partner with the trade exceeding $2 billion, the Armenian Parliament said today following a meeting of Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan with an UAE delegation, led by Dr. Ali Al Nuayimi, Chairman of the Committee on Defense, Internal Affairs and Foreign Relations of the UAE Federal National Council and Vice President of the International Parliamentary Council.

YEREVAN, January 16. /ARKA/. In 2023 the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was Armenia’s second largest trade partner with the trade exceeding $2 billion, the Armenian Parliament said today following a meeting of Parliament Speaker Alen Simonyan with an UAE delegation, led by Dr. Ali Al Nuayimi, Chairman of the Committee on Defense, Internal Affairs and Foreign Relations of the UAE Federal National Council and Vice President of the International Parliamentary Council.

Simonyan noted that the UAE is one of Armenia's reliable and important partners, and the results of the high-level political dialog, friendly relations and dynamic interaction between the two countries are obvious.

He added that the potential of bilateral trade is not exhausted and assured that the Armenian Government is ready to assist in promoting that process.

The interlocutors discussed a number of issues related to the comprehensive economic cooperation between the two countries.

During a meeting of Ali Al Nuayimi with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan on the same day, the interlocutors noted with satisfaction the intensive development of the economic cooperation between Armenia and UAE.

According to the National Statistical Committee of Armenia, the trade between Armenia and UAE in the first 11 months of 2023 amounted to $1.5 billion, increasing 2.7 times year-on-year.

Armenian exports amounted to $1.4 billion with a 2.9-fold growth, while imports amounted to $545.2 million (41.3% growth). -0-
