Visavt to invest additionally in renewable energy sector

The Armenian government has decided today to exempt Visavt company from payment of taxes on imported equipment, spare parts, raw materials and materials that will be used as part of an investment program because the company has pledged to invest additionally 37.44 million drams in the renewable energy.

The Armenian government has decided today to exempt Visavt company from payment of taxes on imported equipment, spare parts, raw materials and materials that will be used as part of an investment program because the company has pledged to invest additionally 37.44 million drams in the renewable energy.
Economic development and investment minister Suren Karayan said at a government meeting on Thursday that the company’s total investment program is worth 4.6 billion drams. He said also that the company has already created 20 new jobs with an average salary of 250,000 drams.
He noted that to complete the project, the company needs to invest additional funds in the purchase of equipment.
Visavt deals with construction of a cascade of small hydroelectric plants with a capacity of 1.2 MW on the Tartar River in the Shahumyan district of Nagorno-Karabakh. Earlier it was reported that the company would spend one billion drams on purchase of the equipment. ($ 1 - 482.14 drams). -0-
