Stepantsminda-Lars motor road remains closed because of heavy snowfalls

Some roads in Armenia as well as Stepantsminda-Lars motor road, the only ground way between Armenia and Russia, remain closed because of heavy snowfalls, the press office of the Armenian territorial administration and emergency ministry reported Tuesday morning.

YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. Some roads in Armenia as well as Stepantsminda-Lars motor road, the only ground way between Armenia and Russia, remain closed because of heavy snowfalls, the press office of the Armenian territorial administration and emergency ministry reported on Tuesday.  

Sotk-Karchavar, Berd-Chambarak, Mastara-Lanjik, Akhuryan-Karnut roads and Verdenyats pass are closed. 

Roads to Shirak province’s Langik, Mantash, Jajur, Shirak, Kaps, Amasia, Tsokhamarg, Bavra rural communities are closed as well. 

Vayk-Jermuk, Saravan-Zanger, Lanjar-Lusashogh, Hrazdan-Jrarat roads and Dilijan serpentine are heavy-going as well as roads in Lori, Gegharkunik, Syunik and Aragatsotn provinces.

Snow keeps falling in the cities of Vedi (Ararat province), Spital (Lori province), Ashtarak (Aragatsotn province), Dilijan (Tavush province) and all over Syunik province but Meghri and Goris cities. 

There are snowstorms in Shirak province’s Ashotsk and Amasia.  

On nine kilometers of Areni-Kgachik road snow-removal vehicles are operating now, and one-side traffic is possible here.
 
In its press release, the Armenian territorial administration and emergency ministry is warning against traveling on the mentioned roads. -0---
