YEREVAN, June 5. /ARKA/. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan expressed serious concern over the difficulties faced by Armenian citizens when registering for interviews and obtaining visas to EU countries.

“We constantly raise this issue with EU member states, at least those represented in Yerevan,” Mirzoyan said in parliament on Thursday during the discussion of the report on the implementation of the Armenian state budget for 2024.

In response, according to him, various justifications are heard - from technical to financial. “The best solution remains the effective and fastest possible completion of the visa liberalization process,” Mirzoyan said.

On visa liberalization of Armenia and the EU

The dialogue on visa liberalization between Armenia and the European Union was officially launched in September 2024. Since the beginning of the year, Yerevan has been visited by several EU expert missions, which are conducting a comprehensive assessment of Armenia's readiness in areas such as document security, border management and migration. The Armenian side will provide the necessary information base, on the basis of which EC specialists will develop an "Action Plan for Visa Liberalization" with Armenia.
