Armenia to establish military attaché position in Poland starting in 2027
YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. Armenia plans to establish a military attaché position at the republic's embassy in Poland. The corresponding decision was made at a government meeting on Thursday.

According to the rationale for the decision, the military attaché will begin performing his duties on January 1, 2027.

The document notes that in the 34 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Poland, bilateral cooperation has consistently developed, including in the defense sector.

The basis for defense cooperation is the cooperation agreement between the governments of the two countries, signed in 2004. Furthermore, on February 26, 2026, an agreement on military-technical cooperation was signed in Warsaw between the Armenian Ministry of Defense and the Polish Ministry of National Defense.

As noted in the rationale, the appointment of a military attaché should facilitate the further deepening of cooperation in defense and military-technical areas.

The military attaché's responsibilities will include establishing and developing official contacts between the two countries' military ministries, promoting cooperation, monitoring the implementation of joint programs, and facilitating visits by delegations from the Armenian Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces.

The document also emphasizes that cooperation with Poland is considered an important area of Armenia's interaction with EU and NATO countries.
