YEREVAN, November 24. /ARKA/. Fourteenth annual TV marathon of All-Armenian Fund “Hayastan” 2011 starts on November 24 in Los-Angeles. Its direct broadcast in Armenia will be provided by four channels – Public TV of Armenia, “Armenia-TV”, “Shant” and “Yerkir Media”, organizational committee of the Fund informs.
“TV marathon will start from 20.00 Thursday to 8.00 Friday (Yerevan time). It can be watched by cable and satellite TV, as well as by Internet”, says the press-release.
Organizers of the event say that this year donations will be made through electronic transfers to special banking accounts for Visa, MasterCard, ArCa, American Express, Discover, Diners Club international cardholders, as well as on-line – by electronic address donate.himnadram.org.
“Donations can be made by visiting the Fund or calling to the number 52 15 05, 52 01 06, 52 64 74, visiting post offices in Yerevan and the regions, as well as through SMS messages”, says the press-release.
All the subscribers of three mobile operators in Armenia can send empty message, or their full name to the number 7733 and donate 500 drams to the Fund. The citizens of Russia sending the word JUR on the same number will donate $10.
During the thirteenth “TV Marathon 2010” which took place under the slogan “Water is life” about $21 million was collected. The collected funds were sent to the funding of the construction system of water supply in Nagorno- Karabakh and support to the development program of the villages of Armenia.
On the eve of the marathon, during the gala-party with participation of the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan over $8 million was collected, and during the European phoneton the donated money was 1.3 million euro.
Annual TV marathon is organized by All-Armenian Fund “Hayastan” since 1998. In “TV Marathon 2009” donations amounting 15.8 million dollars was collected, but the record year is considered the year 2008 when the amount of donations reached $35 million.
All-Armenian Fund “Hayastan” was founded in 1992 and its main task is implementation of national projects, development of infrastructures of Armenia and NKR. Board of Trustees of the Fund is headed by the President of Armenia and its members are authoritative representatives of Armenian Diaspora worldwide. --0 -
