Yerevan second most popular 'velvet season' destination for Russian travelers
YEREVAN, August 21. /ARKA/. The capital of Armenia Yerevan is second in the top 10 most popular foreign destinations for Russians who are planning to spend the so-called ' velvet season' (early autumn) outside their country, according to gazeta.ru.
It quotes OneTwoTrip analysts as saying that 4.3% of reservations of Russian citizens were made in Yerevan raising its popularity among Russian travelers by 34.4% compared to last year.
Turkey's Istanbul is the leader with 8.9% of all foreign bookings made by Russians, but the share of this city decreased by 3.3% over the year.
Italy's Rome closes the top three (3.5%), the demand for hotels in the 'eternal city' in comparison with 2022 increased by 43.5%.
Also in the top 10 are Paris (3.1%), Rimini (2.9%), Dubai (2.5%), Antalya (2.1%), Bangkok (1.9 %,), Budapest (1.7 %,) and Milan (1.6%). -0-
