Armenian capital Yerevan, which in 2023 was the most popular destinations for Russian tourists wishing to spend May holidays outside their country, dropped in 2024 to the third place in the rating.

YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. Armenian capital Yerevan, which in 2023 was the most popular destinations for Russian tourists wishing to spend May holidays outside their country, dropped in 2024 to the third place in the rating.

Turkey’s Istanbul tops the list, followed by Uzbekistan’s capital Tashkent, according to search engine Aviasales.

Some 36% of all air tickets for May holidays are sold on international flights..

According to Armenian Tourism Committee, more than 154,000 tourists visited Armenia in March this year against almost 160,000 in March last year. Mmost of the tourists were from Russia (42%), Georgia (14%) and Iran (8%). -0-
