By the next summer Russian citizens will be able to visit Armenia with their internal passports, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said today after the government approved a proposal to amend the agreement on visa-free regime with Russia.

By the next summer Russian citizens will be able to visit Armenia with their internal passports, Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said today after the government approved a proposal to amend the agreement on visa-free regime with Russia. According to the deputy minister, the decision is aimed at encouraging Russian tourists to visit Armenia.
The idea to allow Russian citizens to visit Armenia with their internal passports was first voiced by former prime minister Hovik Abrahamyan in September 2015. He said that only 10% of Russian citizens had passports for traveling abroad. -0-
