Number of tourists visiting Armenia in 2025 increased by 2.5%, reaching 2.26 million

YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in 2025 was 2,263,642, compared to 2,208,179 in 2024, an increase of 2.5%. This was reported by the Statistical Committee.

Of the tourists who visited Armenia last year, 1,004,507 were women and 1,259,135 were men. The largest number of tourists visiting the country were aged 36-63 (1,146,497), while the smallest number were aged 16-17 (32,900).

The largest number of tourists in Armenia came from Russia (921,704 people or 40.7% of the total, a decline of 1.7% compared to 2023), Georgia (288,578 people or 12.7%, an increase of 8.5%) and Iran (182,364 people or 8.1%, an increase of 3.3%).

Last year, Armenia was also visited by citizens of the United States (60,891), China (45,004), France (35,847), Germany (34,136), India (28,450), Ukraine (27,648), Italy (22,669), Belarus (16,735), the Philippines (16,650), the Republic of Korea (14,851), the Netherlands (14,593), the United Kingdom (13,713), Turkey (13,441), Poland (13,349), and Belgium (10,785).

The smallest number of tourists – 1 person each – came from England, Guyana, Guinea-Bissau, Lesotho, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome, and Principe.

Belize, Congo, Malawi, Papua New Guinea, and Djibouti each received 2 tourists. Three people each visited Armenia from Botswana, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Mali, Micronesia, Niger, Samoa, Suriname, Swaziland, and Tonga.

Last year, seven Azerbaijani citizens visited Armenia (there were no visits from Azerbaijani citizens in 2024), as well as 356 citizens included in the "Unknown Country" category, representing a 9.5% increase compared to 2024.

At the same time, the report notes that 1,725,590 tourists departed the country in 2025, compared to 1,679,240 in 2024.
