Armenia welcomed over 1.17 million tourists in 4 months
YEREVAN, August 22. /ARKA/. According to the Tourism Committee, a total of 1,170,727 tourists visited Armenia from January to July, compared to 1,183,765 in the previous year.
Additionally, in July 2025, Armenia saw 263,592 tourists, an increase from 237,603 tourists in July 2024.
The Committee highlighted that the highest number of tourist arrivals in January-July of this year came from Russia (452,984 individuals or 39%), followed by Georgia (158,121 individuals, 14%) and Iran (96,617 individuals, 9%).
A decline in the overall number of tourists arriving in Armenia has been noted since last year.
According to Armstat, the total number of foreign tourists visiting Armenia in 2024 was 2,208,179, reflecting a decrease of 4.7% compared to 2023. The figure for the first half of this year stands at 907,135 individuals, marking a decline of 4.1%.
The Ministry of Economy attributes the reduction in tourist flows last year primarily to a drop in visitors from Russia, who constituted the largest share (42.5% of all entries into the country, down from 49.1% in 2023).-0-
