YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) will convene on December 23 to consider and approve new electricity prices.
According to a draft decision, posted on the regulator’s official website, the daytime electricity price for households (from 7.00 to 23.00) is proposed to reduce from the current 46.2 drams per one kWh to 44.98 drams, and the nighttime price - from 36.2 drams to 34.98 drams (all prices include VAT).
The regulator will set special rates for certain categories of citizens – thus socially vulnerable households will pay 40 drams per 1 kWh in the daytime and 30 drams per 1 kWh at night. The new tariffs come into force from February 1, 2017.
The PSRC has already cut electricity prices earlier this year. From August 1st the daily rate for households was reduced to 46.2 from 48.78 drams (5. 3% drop), and the nighttime rate - from 38.78 drams to 36.2 drams (6.7% drop) for 1 kWh ($ 1 - 481.6 drams). --0-
