Armenian government to oversee exports of dual-use goods
YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. The Armenian National Assembly on Monday considered in the first reading a set of draft amendments to a law that supervises exports of dual-use goods, their transit through the territory of the country, transfer of dual-use information and results of intellectual activity.
The amendments enshrine the government's right to establish a procedure for examination of controlled goods and intangible values.
According to Deputy Minister of Economy Narek Teryan, the government will also establish a list of goods, the transit and export of which may produce dual-use goods as a result of processing.
Deputy National Assembly Speaker Hakob Arshakyan noted that in the world practice it is customary that the countries exporting dual-use goods have an end-user certificate in their legislation and the adoption of these amendments will make Armenia a more reliable and transparent partner in the issue of exporting such goods. --0--
