Armenia's defense ministry will acquire the best weapons at competitive prices, Defense Minister David Tonoyan told reporters on Friday.
YEREVAN, September 20. /ARKA/. Armenia's defense ministry will acquire the best weapons at competitive prices, Defense Minister David Tonoyan told reporters on Friday.
"The armed forces of Armenia are being equipped with the best weapons at competitive prices and it doesn’t matter which country they come from. It should be borne in mind that different countries have their own internal restrictions on the supply of weapons," he said.
At the same time, the minister did not rule out that the supplier of weapons may change, depending on the price and quality of weapons.
Speaking about the supplies of Russian Su 30 fighters, the head of the defense ministry suggested waiting until the end of the year or the beginning of 2020.
“Now our experts are working on this issue. There are contractual obligations,” Tonoyan said.
Asked to comment on reports that Armenia will acquire new weapons, which in terms of technical quality, are more advanced that the famous Russian missiles Iskander, the minister said that as soon as new weapons arrive, a statement to that end will be made.. –0-
