Armenia has first solar batteries manufacturing plant
YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Prime minister Karen Karapetyan attended today the opening ceremony of the first in Armenia plant to manufacture solar batteries. The plant called Profpanel has been working in the field of solar panel production since 2016 under the SolarOn brand.

Karapetyan inspected the plant and was told about the production process, the company’s programs and development prospects. The head of the government was told that the annual production capacity for the creation and installation of SolarOn solar batteries is 10MW.

The volume of the company’s initial investment is about 2 million US dollars. It will supply solar batteries first to the domestic market, and then to export them to regional and other countries.
A mini-solar station with a capacity of 1.5 kW, which can produce about 200 kWh of electricity, will cost $1,500-$1,700.

Since the spring of 2017 the company has been working in a test mode and has already implemented a number of projects for the installation of solar panels in industrial and residential areas. On February 23, the Armenian government exempted Profpanel from import customs duties. -0-
