Two Armenian athletes win gold at European championships

Armenian woman weightlifter Alexandra Grigoryan (55 kg) won the  European champion title for the first time in her career with the result of 196 kg at the championship held in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reported.
Two Armenian athletes win gold at European championships

YEREVAN, February 14. /ARKA/. Armenian woman weightlifter Alexandra Grigoryan (55 kg) won the European champion title for the first time in her career with the result of 196 kg at the championship held in Sofia, Bulgaria, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport reported.

The Armenian athlete also won a small gold medal in the "push" exercise, holding 115 kg above her head.

Another Armenian athlete, Greco-Roman wrestler Malkhas Amoyan won the European Championship for the third time in his career with a confident 7-0 victory over Turkey's Yunus Bashar in the final of the Bucharest championship.

Amoyan earlier defeated Italy's Ricardo Vito Abrescia 10:1. In the quarterfinals, the Armenian wrestler defeated Russia's Adlet Tyulubayev, competing under the flag of independent countries, 3-2, and in the semifinals he defeated Moldova's Alexandru Gutu 2-1. -0-
