New sports complex featuring football stadium and academy to be constructed in Vagharshapat

YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. On Thursday, the Armenian government evaluated an investment initiative to build a football academy and a contemporary stadium in Vagharshapat, with a budget of 7.2 billion drams.

The project is spearheaded by Imagine Yerevan LLC, which was founded by the proprietors of Yerevan FC Noah, the reigning Armenian football champion, with the intention of developing a large-scale sports complex in Vagharshapat, Armavir province.

During the meeting, the government sanctioned the transfer of the land designated for the stadium and academy to Imagine Yerevan LLC.

The forthcoming sports complex, equipped with modern infrastructure and sports facilities, will adhere to contemporary UEFA international standards. It will include a football stadium, a sports facility, and a football academy.

The investment initiative is anticipated to be executed in two phases by the year 2030. The plan includes the reconstruction and modernization of the Vagharshapat Football Academy, aligning it with the highest international standards. An additional 100 employment opportunities will be generated, with an average salary of 380,000 drams.

Reputable architectural firms, including Populous from Great Britain and GMP from Germany, were taken into account during the selection of the design team.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan underscored the significance of the project, indicating that the government is actively engaged in various communities to construct football fields throughout Armenia and promote the advancement of this sport.-0-
