Сapparos resigns as head coach of Armenian national team - FFA
YEREVAN, Sept. 29. /ARKA/. The Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) and the head coach of the national team Joaquin Caparros have terminated their cooperation by mutual agreement, according to the Football Federation of Armenia.
On September 28, FFA President Armen Melikbekyan met with Joaquin Caparros and discussed the Armenian national team's performance this year. During the meeting, a mutual agreement was reached to terminate cooperation.
Melikbekyan was said to thank the Spanish specialist for his work, for staying with the team during the hardest times for the Republic of Armenia, for the best human qualities and high professionalism.
Under Joaquin Caparros' leadership the Armenian national team for the first time in its history won the official tournament, finishing first in its Group C of the UEFA Nations League.
Under his guidance, Armenia held the longest unbeaten streak in its history - 9 games. The Armenian national team led by the 66-year-old specialist played a number of brilliant matches in the World Cup qualifying round, giving their fans a lot of great emotions. However, the Armenian team's latest matches were disappointing, in particular, it lost to Ukraine with a devastating 5-0 score.-0-
