YEREVAN, June 29. /ARKA/. Ruben Hayrapetyan, the controversial presidential of the Football Federation of Armenia (FFA) will in all likelihood be reelected on June 30 when FFA convenes for a regular meeting, despite the protests of Armenian football fans, a local daily ‘Zhoghovurd” (People) reported.

The daily recalls that back in 2015 Hayrapetyan said he would resign if Armenia failed in the qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Armenia failed but Hayrapetyan went back on his promise.

According to the newspaper, Hayrapetyan plans to strip of FFA membership those clubs and organizations that can vote against his re-election.

According to the FFA charter valid until 2010, FFA president could hold this post for four terms, each four years long. However, in 2010 a new charter was adopted, which eliminated this restriction.  -0-
