Armenia’s Artur Alexanyan secures third consecutive world title

Reigning Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan (98 kg) of Armenia secured his third consecutive world title on the opening day of competition at the World Championships in Paris yesterday after beating Russia’s Musa Yevloyev 3-1.
YEREVAN, August 21, /ARKA/. Reigning Olympic champion Artur Aleksanyan (98 kg) of Armenia secured his third consecutive world title on the opening day of competition at the World Championships in Paris yesterday after beating Russia’s Musa Yevloyev 3-1.
Aleksanyan is now a three-time World Champion (2014, 2015, 2017), and a three-time European Champion (2012, 2013, 2014).
Aleksanyan was born in 1991 in Gyumri. He started Greco-Roman wrestling in 2000 under the guidance of his father, wrestling coach Gevorg Aleksanyan. -0-
