YEREVAN, August 22. /ARKA/. Armenia came 42nd in Rio Olympics overall medal standings.

Brazil hosted athletes from 206 countries hitting the record high.

Armenia, with its one gold and three silvers, stands between Turkey (one gold, three silvers and four bronzes) and Czech Republic (1-2-7).

Armenia’s Artur Aleksanyan (98 kilograms) picked up Olympic gold in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Weightlifters Simon Martirosyan (up to 105 kg) and Gor Minasyan (over 105 kg) as well as Greco-Roman wrestler Mihran Harutyunyan won silver medals. The latter missed gold because the referring was biased.

Top five medal-gainers in Rio Olympics are the United States (46-37-38), the United Kingdom (27-23-17), China (26-18-19), Russia (19-18-19) and Germany (17-10-15). --0----
