YEREVAN, November 29. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality is going to set new prices for paid parking on those parts of the city's streets, which are  marked by red lines. The new prices were unveiled today by the Municipality spokesman Hayk Kostanyan, who said the city is divided into two A and B zones.

The zone A covers the areas around Surb Grigor Lusavorich Cathedral, Aghatangegos, Khanjyan, Alek Manukyan, Charents, Koryun, Abovyan, Isaakyan, Moskovyan, Saryan and Leo streets- in total about 40 streets and avenues. The following rates are planned to be applied there:

300 drams - for 1 hour

2,000 drams - for 1 day

5,000 drams - for 1 week

18,000 drams - for 1 month

160,000 - for 1 year

Zone B covers the Kentron administrative district (except for zone A) and Arabkir district.

200 drams - for 1 hour

1 000 drams - for 1 day

2,000 drams - for 1 week

4,000 drams - for 1 month

24,000 - for 1 year

"This initiative is based on the priority goal of reducing traffic in the downtown, rather than increasing the districts’ income. Moreover, this is one of the consistent steps in the context of the public transportation reforms," Kostanyan said in a Facebook post.

Now paid parking on so-called "red lines" costs 100 drams for 1 hour, 500 drams for a day, 1,000 drams for a week, 5,000 drams for a month and 12,000 drams for a year. ($1 is AMD 402.99). --0--
