Yerevan municipality to build 175 new ramps this year

The first meeting of the Yerevan City Commission on Persons with Disabilities discussed its program of activities for 2019.
YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. The first meeting of the Yerevan City Commission on Persons with Disabilities discussed its program of activities for 2019. The first deputy mayor of Yerevan Hrachyan Sargsyan, who is the chairman of the commission, said the projects to be carried out should be meaningful and realistic.
The annual program of activities covers various areas of the capital city, including implementation of educational programs, as well as joint social projects with public organizations dealing with the problems of persons with disabilities.
The plan, particularly, calls for the construction of 175 ramps this year. At some street crossings new traffic lights with a sound signal will be installed. For people with visual impairments, special devices will be installed in city buses to inform the names of stops. -0-
