Yerevan Medical University launches coronavirus antibody study

The Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) is starting a study of antibodies to coronavirus as part of the COVID_Antibody project, (YSMU) rector Armen Muradyan said in a Facebook post.

YEREVAN, August 7. /ARKA/. The Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) is starting a  study of antibodies to coronavirus as part of the COVID_Antibody project, (YSMU) rector Armen Muradyan said in a Facebook post.

"In the last few months, research on antibodies to coronavirus has begun all over the world, and naturally YSMU researchers join this scientific challenge and begin the analysis of anti-SARS-CoV2 antibodies within the COVID_Antibody project," he wrote.

He said  in order to participate in the project, it is necessary to have a positive coronavirus test, fill out an application, visit the hospital and take a free blood test.

"Our scientists are investigating the formation of antibodies after infection and their amount in the human body," he explained.

Muradyan stressed that this process is absolutely safe for the patient and  all those who want to participate in this project can follow the link: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLScUgsUf-RTIwhiG-k... / He also added that participation is voluntary. 

As of August 7 morning, there were 39,985 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Armenia. The death tool from the infection stood at 777 and 19, 32,008 patients have recovered. -0-
