YEREVAN, March 17. /ARKA/. Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan has announced today his resignation at a meeting of the Council of Elders, the legislative assembly of the Armenian capital city.

Hrachya Sargsyan was elected mayor of Yerevan on December 22, 2021 by a secret ballot of the Council of Elders.

By the same vote, his predecessor Hayk Marutyan was dismissed from the post. Sargsyan, who had previously served as vice-mayor, was the only candidate for the post. -0-
