YEREVAN, October 26. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Council of Elders (municipal assembly) has elected today four vice-mayors of Armenia's capital city.

By a vote of 32 to 5 abstentions ex-minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan was elected first vice-mayor and Levon Hovhannisyan, Suren Grigoryan and Sargis Madatyan were elected vice-mayors.

Ex-Mayor Hayk Marutyan's faction National Progress boycotted the Council's session. Before walking out of the session room Aram Torosyan, head of its faction, called on the opposition factions, particularly on Public Voice, not to take part in the voting.
