YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan described the traffic congestion in the capital as critical.

"I experience it firsthand. It's quite unusual to be caught in a traffic jam on a bicycle and unable to move. I have instructed the formation of a working group to investigate the matter. However, quick, temporary fixes will not be effective as the number of vehicles increases daily. First, we must identify the underlying causes. A traffic signal may malfunction in one area, an accident may happen in another, but the primary issue is the unprecedented, massive number of cars in Yerevan," Pashinyan stated during a briefing on Thursday.

He noted that a strategy needs to be devised to tackle this issue, which may involve making tough choices.

"We must determine whether to accept the current circumstances or not. Yerevan's road infrastructure is limited. While we should seek immediate solutions, it is also crucial to consider a long-term plan," the Prime Minister stressed.-0-
