YEREVAN, December 29. /ARKA/. New trolleybuses and electric buses must be purchased to complete public transportation reforms in Yerevan, said Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

"In addition to the 45 new trolleybuses (already ordered), we will also need to purchase 30 12-meter trolleybuses and 249 18-meter electric buses," Avinyan said at a press conference.

According to him, the results of the public transportation strategy and reform can already be summarized. "Furthermore, several depots are being renovated," Avinyan added.

Speaking about the installation of digital public transportation schedule boards at bus stops across the capital, the mayor reported that approximately 40 such devices are already in operation.

It was previously reported that the Yerevan Municipality ordered 45 new 12-meter trolleybuses from China, which will be delivered in April-May 2026. The total contract value is approximately 4.3 billion drams.

The city authorities also plan to purchase 250 new electric buses, replacing HIGER buses and GAZelle-City minibuses. The program's financial package is estimated at approximately 98 billion drams and will be financed by a loan from the Asian Development Bank.-0-
