USAID delegation arrives in Armenia to assess needs of Nagorno-Karabakh refugees
YEREVAN, October 6. /ARKA/. Chief of Staff of the Armenian Prime Minister's Office Arayik Harutyunyan received on Friday a USAID delegation, including USAID Deputy Chief of Staff for Europe and Asia Alex Sokolovsky, USAID Mission Director for Armenia John Allelo, and USAID Emergency Response Coordinator Mike Lambright.
Members of the delegation traveled to Armenia to assess the needs of the refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh.
"In this context, issues related to the strategic communication implemented by the government of Armenia, the reform plan, and the need for rapid response were discussed. Emphasis was placed on institutionalization of the communication system on both sides," the press service of the Armenian government reported.
Members of the USAID delegation expressed readiness to provide continuous support to the Armenian government.
Earlier, USAID Administrator Samantha Power said that the United States will provide Armenia with $11.5 million worth of humanitarian aid to address the basic needs of the refugees.-0-
