The third Russian Center has opened today in the Armenian town of Armavir in the same name province, VTB Bank (Armenia) reported.

YEREVAN, July 7. /ARKA/. The third Russian Center has opened today in the Armenian town of Armavir in the same name province, VTB Bank (Armenia) reported.

It said the Russian Center, initiated by the Moscow House cultural and business center in Yerevan, is located in the local House of Culture.

The Russian Center is a kind of platform with a rich library. It will host various seminars, public lectures, exhibitions, film screenings and, most importantly, free Russian language courses for people of different ages.

The Russian Center was opened with the financial support of VTB Bank (Armenia). The red ribbon was cut by Russian Ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin, Vahram Karapetyan, head of the House of Moscow in Yerevan, Ivan Telegin, VTB Bank (Armenia) CEO , Ara Khzmalumyan, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Hambartsum Matosyan, the governor of the Armavir province and David Khudatyan, the mayor of Armavir.

“Supporting the development of culture and education is one of the most important areas of social activities of VTB Bank (Armenia). We are aware of the importance of the Russian language and culture in the regions of Armenia and hope for the fruitful development of the center. And for the best students, VTB Bank (Armenia) opens its doors to participate in trainings and educational practice in its various divisions and branches that will enable them to gain knowledge about the banking and financial world,” said Ivan Telegin. The head of House of Moscow in Yerevan Vahram Karapetyan personally thanked VTB Bank (Armenia) for the support and presented a symbolic gift to Ivan Telegin.

“We are expanding the geography of Russian centers and want to create similar educational sites in all regions of Armenia. Only through education can one have a developed and strong state. The Russian Center will offer free Russian language courses, which will help improve the language level and strengthen the cultural dialogue between the Russian and Armenian peoples,” said Vahram Karapetyan.

The center offers a wide selection of educational materials with the help of which one can get accurate and open information about Russia in a variety of areas. Thanks to the financial support of VTB Bank (Armenia), the Center has been furnished and equipped with modern equipment, allowing interactive lessons and discussions.

The opening of the center was attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, the Russian border guards deployed in Armenia, heads of Russian organizations operating in Armenia and others.

The participants of the previous two-month free Russian language course were awarded certificates of completion. The local children staged an open lesson for the guests, demonstrating their knowledge.

The first Russian Center was opened in Avetik Ishakyan Library’s branch in Yerevan and the second in the town of Vanadzor.
