YEREVAN, August 19. /ARKA/. The tender process for the construction of the Ajapnyak metro station is planned to begin in 2025, as discussed during a meeting at the Yerevan City Hall on Monday.

According to the city's Office for Implementation of Investment Programs in Urban Development, the results of the conducted assessments will be revised throughout September. The final documentation is expected to be completed by the end of this year, allowing the tender process for construction to commence in 2025.

The Ajapnyak metro station is projected to be built within four years, but the sources of funding still need to be clarified. The total cost of the project is preliminarily estimated at around $50 million. The Armenian government has allocated 750 million drams for the design work, with an additional 554 million drams provided by the Yerevan municipality.

A tender for the preparation of the design and estimated documentation for the Ajapnyak metro station has already been conducted, and a contract has been signed with the winning company, Metrogiprotrans from Russia.

The Yerevan Metro, named after Karen Demirchyan, was established in 1981. Currently, it operates 10 stations, with a total track length of 13.4 kilometers.
