Temperatures to rise to 30 degrees Celsius in Armenia

YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. No rains are expected across Armenia on May 5 and May 6 overnight, the National Weather Service reported.

It said daytime short rains and thunderstorms are expected in some parts of the country as well as in the capital city Yerevan on May 6 and May 7-9.

The western winds' speed will be 3-5 m/s, possibly accelerating to 15-20 m/s during the thunderstorms.

The daytime temperature on May 5-6 will gradually increase by 8-10 degrees, and drop as much from Sunday to Tuesday.

The highest temperatures- up to 30 degrees Celsius- are expected on May 6 in the southern region of Syunik. The temperature will rise to 27 degrees in Armavir, Ararat and Vayots Dzor foothills, to 24 degrees in Aragatsotn foothills, and 23 degrees in Tavush.

The temperature in Yerevan on Friday afternoon will warm up to 21-23 degrees, on Saturday it will be 23-25 degrees, and by Tuesday the temperature will drop to 14-16 degrees. -0-
