YEREVAN, August 4. /ARKA/. No strong heat waves are expected in Armenia in August, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center Gagik Surenyan said.

"The temperature is expected to be only 1 degree above the climatic norm. In the coming days - August 6-8 - the temperature will rise, but in any case, even in the hottest parts of the country, which are Syunik valleys, Ararat Valley, the capital Yerevan, no temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius are expected," he said.

The forecaster noted that rains are expected in some regions during August. Surenyan added also that this year, unlike last year, temperatures are not expected to rise to 40 degrees and above. -0-
