Street lighting in Yerevan will be provided only with LED lights
YEREVAN, March 1. /ARKA/. In the next three years, street lighting in all of Yerevan will be provided only with LED lights, Andranik Tevosyan, head of the municipality-run company responsible for street lighting, said today.
"Our goal is to fully provide the city with LED lighting in three years. For this purpose, we will have to install 10-12 thousand new LED lights," he said at a press conference on Friday.
Tevosyan stressed that about 45-50% of the planned lighting modernization work had been completed so far. According to him, about 40 million drams were saved on electricity last year due to LED lighting.
He also informed that in Yerevan "smart" lighting will be installed for the first time on Baghramyan and Komitas avenues, Vazgen I Street (former Kasyan Street). Tevosyan specified that the "smart" lighting will allow remote monitoring of the condition of each individual streetlight. -0-
